Kellie Fuller is one of those rare vocalists that cannot be locked into a single genre or decade, performing some of the most beloved songs and hidden gems spanning the early 1900’s to the 1980’s. Breaking through barriers, she always offers wonderful surprises as she brings Jazz, R&B and The Great American Songbook to the stage with her own blend of humor, intimacy and energy.
Kellie got her start in the schools of Vallejo and Napa, California, playing various instruments, singing, dancing and acting from a very young age. After graduating with an Associate of Arts in Fine Arts at Napa Valley College, Kellie studied opera and classical music with William Gorton for several years.
During that time, she performed in the Miss America Program, the U.S.O., North Bay Opera Company and Children's Theater Network.
In the blues and jazz world, she was mentored by guitarist/vocalist Jan Tangen, who had an illustrious music background including playing with Paul Horn and Joe Pass.
After a hiatus to raise her children, Kellie returned to her music career by joining up with acclaimed piano player and arranger, Mike Greensill. Kellie has shared the stage with and has been mentored by two renowned vocalists, Wesla Whitfield and Terry Bradford. Wesla described Kellie as, “A glorious voice and a captivating entertainer with charm to burn.”
“Kellie Fuller’s silky smooth voice and lilting vocal styling are a wonderful way to be transported into my own mind’s heavenly places, “ says Terry Bradford.
She has appeared at several esteemed venues in the Wine Country; the Napa Valley Opera House, Blue Note Napa, Regiis Ova Lounge, Lincoln Theater, Uptown Theatre, Silo's and The Plaza Bistro.
"(She's) an amazingly versatile vocalist, one who handles jazz, blues, R&B and gems from the Great American Songbook with equal blends of style and grace" says Jim Harrington, Pop Music Critic for Bay Area News Group.
“She brings to the music a sense of style and passion that is uniquely Kellie. Her delivery is like a warm embrace,” quotes San Francisco Arts & Culture writer, Kenneth Fish.
Special highlights include performing at the Sausalito Art Festival, opening for Manhattan Transfer and having the lyrics from one of her songs printed in a major book publication. She also plays in Portland, OR which is not only filled with excellent jazz musicians, it's near her Mom's house!
Kellie was lead vocalist for two popular R&B bands; Familiar Soul and Soul Kat and she is also well-known for her five years as the popular morning radio host on "Kellie in the Morning" on 99.3 FM and 1440 AM in Napa.
